The Allen & Heath SQ-7 is a 48-channel, 36-bus digital mixing console well suited for live sound, corporate A/V, recording studios, and houses of worship. The SQ-7 features 32+1 motorized faders and 32 professional-quality microphone preamps. There are also eight stereo FX engines with dedicated return channels and access to the RackExtra FX library. The mixer’s 12 stereo outputs (configurable as groups or auxes) are well suited for in-ear-monitor setups, while the Automatic Mic Mixing function offers quick and easy operation over multiple microphones for conferences, panel talks, and more.
At the heart of the SQ-7 lies the 96 kHz XCVI Core FPGA engine, which delivers professional, high-resolution audio quality, ultra-low latency (less than 0.7 ms), variable bit depth for precision and noise performance, mix coherency down to the sample, and the power to handle high channel/mix counts and ample FX processing. The SQ’s DEEP processing architecture allows you to hand-pick boutique compressor and preamp emulations and embed them directly within the mixer’s inputs and mix channels, all without adding system latency or setup hassles.
The front panel is centered around the mixer’s 7″ capacitive touchscreen and framed by an array of high-grip, illuminated encoders, which offer clear visual feedback and quick, hands-on control. You can drag-and-drop channels and mixes to any strip with custom naming and color coding on the strip display, allowing you to build a mix environment that mirrors your workflow. The SQ-7 offers 16 softkeys, which can be freely assigned to any function for a customized and advanced workflow. The on-board recorder uses a USB Type-A port to record stereo and multitrack sessions to a flash drive. The recorder can also playback stereo and multitrack files, handy for virtual sound checks and studio mixing.
The SQ-7 offers expansion options via Allen & Heath’s stage box expanders, or install an optional Dante or Waves card to adapt and expand using the latest digital technologies. SQ is fully compatible with the ME Personal Mixing System, allowing performers to take control of their own monitor mixes. Any number of ME-1 and ME-500 personal mixers can be daisy-chained from the mixer’s SLink port, or from a connected remote expander. The Allen & Heath SQ-7 includes a power cord.

THE MIXER THAT CHANGED THE RULES
38 in / 28 out Digital Mixer with remote wireless control
Our best-selling digital mixer combines exceptional functionality with innovative design to deliver a professional mixing experience with class-leading sound quality.
Whether you’re making the move from analogue or updating your digital desk, mixing live or in the studio, it’s time to experience Qu.
World Class Processing & FX
Qu’s RackFX dynamics and FX algorithms are derived from those used in our pro touring series.
Some of the world’s most respected audio engineers have chosen to use RackFX on tour in preference to top-end plug-ins and external FX units.
Qu boasts 4 stereo RackFX engines, featuring lovingly crafted emulations of legendary classic reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, modulators, flangers and more. FX are returned to the mix on dedicated return channels, so you’re not tying up your mono and stereo input channels, and each Stereo FX Return has a dedicated 4 band PEQ.
Record. Stream. Mix
Qu-32’s built-in audio interface streams up to 32 selectable tracks to your Mac or PC and returns from the computer can be easily assigned to the Input channels.
The interface is class-compliant on Mac OS X making it truly plug ‘n play and will be recognized straight away by any DAW supporting Core Audio, including Logic, Cubase, Reaper, and Pro Tools. An ASIOTM and WDM compatible driver is available for Windows computers.
Standard MIDI control is tunnelled over the USB and network connections, this can be mapped to the faders of your favourite DAW using the A&H MIDI Control app which provides easy setup and emulation of HUI or Mackie Control protocols on Mac OS X and Windows systems.
Want to livestream? Easy. Just send a stereo mix over USB and your streaming software will do the rest.
Everything I/O
Qu-32 is a self-contained mixer, so if you’ve already got the analogue cables you’re good to go.
But if you’re thinking of trading in the multicore for a Cat5 digital snake, the built-in dSNAKE™ port has you future-proofed, allowing connection to a remote AB168, AR2412 or AR84 Stagebox from our Everything I/O range of remote expanders.
Qu-Drive: Record without a computer
Qu has an integrated multitrack USB recorder, providing 18 channels of 48kHz, 24bit recording and playback straight to / from your USB key or hard drive.
Capturing multitrack recordings of your shows has never been so easy. A selectable stereo pair can be recorded alongside the 16 Mono channels, and multitrack audio can be played back to the 16 Mono inputs plus ST1.
On top of this, Qu-Drive also provides stereo recording patchable from any pair of Mix outputs, the Main LR (pre, post, or summed to mono) or even the PAFL bus, with 2- track stereo playback to ST3.
